This is the grave of John Randal Fraser. He died on the 11th of June 1920. Well within the remit of CWGC graves. He first served in the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. After being placed on the retirement list. He served in the Beaconsfield Town Guard. During the Siege of Kimberley, in the Second Boer War. He is mentioned in dispatches. In April 1917 he was made Honorary Lieutenant Colonel of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment. He is commemorated on the CWGC Register. The place of Commemoration is given as Golders Green. Every Record I can find, but two, also gives his last resting place as Golders Green. This one, written on stone, and his burial record. It is very rare for the CWGC to make an error. This is only the second one I have found. Hoping to persuade the CWGC to correct their records before the 11th of November.
Hi Peter,
How are you getting on with the CWGC?
Kind regards,
Steve Garnett
